Job Description

LINKS Recruitment are seeking experienced Ground Workers to join a leading construction company to assist with various construction projects. The successful candidates will perform a range of tasks to support the overall construction process, including site preparation, trench digging, pipe laying, and concreting. This role requires a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Preparation: Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, trees, and other obstructions.
• Excavation: Dig trenches, foundations, and other earthworks using manual tools and machinery.
• Pipe and Cable Laying: Assist in laying pipes for drainage, water, and sewage systems, as well as cables for utilities.
• Concreting: Mix, pour, and spread concrete for footings, foundations, and other structures.
• Compacting and Levelling: Use compactors and other equipment to level and compact soil, gravel, and other materials.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other construction team members to complete projects on time and to specifications.

Skills:

• Proficient in using hand tools and small plant machinery.
• Basic understanding of construction techniques and materials.
• Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy materials and operate machinery.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and working outdoors.
• Tolerance to various weather conditions.

Must have CSCS Card

Must have own vehicle due to location of site

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: £16.00 per hour
